Children’s Hospital Challenge

On the 31st July 2015, our directors Grant and Craig will be taking part in a charity cycle along with 9 others to help raise awareness of Alexander disease.

All 11 brave participants will be cycling, 1000 MILES IN 10 DAYS to 17 childrens hospitals across the country in order to raise funds for research and to promote awareness of the rare form of Leukodystrophy and other metabolic diseases.

What is Alexander Disease?

Alexander disease is a rare genetic condition and is a form of Leukodystrophy. The leukodystrophies affect the central nervous system by disrupting the growth or maintenance of the myelin sheath that insulates nerve cells.

Such diseases are extremely rare affecting only 500 children worldwide which is why we are committed to fund raising in order for more research to be carried out to not only understand metabolic diseases but to find a cure.
